OnDecember 11th, the delegation led by Wang Rui, Dean of the Faculty of Science at York University, Memberof the Canadian Academies of the Royal Society and Health Sciences, and Wu Lingyun, his wife,visited WFMU to sign a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of York University.Liu Jun, the Communist Party Secretary of WFMU met with the delegation.

LiuJun firstly expressed his gratitude to Wang Rui, the eminent WFMU alumnus, forhis contributions to the development of WFMU and then highly praised hisvaluable suggestions on WFMU high-quality development after its renaming.Inthe meeting, both sides discussed cooperation in the areas of the school’s development,discipline construction, high-level faculty exchange scientific research,international exchange and cooperation, and utilization of alumni resources ofthe school, etc. to make further breakthroughs under the new goal of establishinga high-level medical university.

Reviewing his study experienceat WFMU, Wang Rui expressed congratulations for its renaming, summarized theroles played by several generations of Weiyi people, alumni,students, and teachers during the renaming process, looked forward to thefuture of the university, and presented the flag of York University to theschool.  

Signing ceremony ofStrategic Cooperation Agreement between Weifang Medical University, China andYork University, Canada and appointment ceremony of Wang Rui as Chief Expertare held at the meeting room on the fourth floor.

After the meeting,Wang Rui listened to the report on the progress of the school's academicianteam’s work and exchanged ideas with team members.  

The heads of the Personnel Department,Scientific Research Department, International Cooperation and ExchangeDepartment, School of Basic Medical Sciences, and the delegation led byAcademician Wang Rui participated in the event.
